Meal Prep Ministry

Since 2022, The Society of St. Vincent de Paul has been serving community members through a Meal Prep Ministry at Joe's Place in Camden. Sponsored by Sacred Heart Church, Joe’s Place – located on Broadway and Ferry – provides free meals to the underserved every Saturday and relies on volunteers to donate food and their time.

Our commitment though small, benefits many. Every third Saturday of each month, Christ the King parishioners and SVdP members unite to cook a homemade meal for 90-100 community members. The hours of service are 1PM through 4PM.

For all volunteers over the age of 18, this role requires a course completion as well as a fingerprint recording prior to serving. If you are unable to complete a course, we welcome you to serve by shopping for the home-cooked meal ingredients with our group funds.
